Guest Designer Interview Series

Featured in the Atelier

In the atelier · A different city each issue

Featured in the Atelier is the Fashdes guest series — a rotating interview format that hands the page to a designer, founder, or maker each issue and asks them to speak from inside their own studio. The writing is done in-house, most often by Eleanor when the subject is literary and by Hadley when the subject is art-historical, but the voice of the piece belongs to the guest. Each instalment follows the same long arc — atelier visit, ninety-minute conversation, the guest's own selection of pieces from the Fashdes vault and from their own work. The premise is short and old-fashioned: a brand's worth is measured by what its founder loves, not by what it sells.
